Ok i've been trying to get hold of a friend of mine whom some of you know, for that last two weeks Carol (whitby alternative events - also known as thegriefqueen )  hasnt been answering her phone.

Can someone tell me if she has changed her number or if she's at least ok and just being a retard and not getting back to my messages.
She was supposed to visit this weekend hence my concern as its really not like her to not get in touch and flake.

Just a reminder to you all about the Danse Macabre presented 'Pit Of Curiosities' this friday 13th at the Pit & Pendulum.

Starting at 8pm at only £1 on the door till late you'll expect to see freaks of all kinds including an opportunity to get your fortune told by our very own Oracle.

Live performances will include goreriffic magic and spectacular ghouls dancing their magic dance.

2009 ARTISTS WANTED!

The Danse Macabre exhibition was launched in 2007 as a chance for Dark artwork of all disciplines to exhibited in a professional capacity but without the pomposity and stigma of the usual art world that alienates so many. The exhibition was also an attempt to recognize modern application of art via photoshop for example and various other new technologies alongside traditional materials and skills.

We are now looking for new applicants to join us for the 2009 exhibition to run again this October in Nottingham and possibly a second show in Nov and a venue TBC.

A deadline of FEB 28th is set for all samples of your current work (samples do not need to be of the work you will exhibit) to be sent via email along with a proposal for you work to info@dansemacabre-art.co.uk.

This saturday i will need a max of 10 people to meet at the Pit & Pendulum NOTTINGHAM for a shoot.
The shoot will be fairly simple, all it requires is you turn up dressed normal and ready to beat everyone up :)

Main character needs to be very very metal - message me with a pic if you want to be the cover star!

The cover will be a depiction of a Metaler walking away from a riot, a town in chaos with people fighting in the background, shoot should take no more than two hours and a drink is in it for you after.

I'm doing an album cover for a band from Romania based in India and need to take a pic of a guy in a suit walking out of the destruction of society - this might alter. Usual bollocks basically. Anyway i need to make it look like the guy is walking away from a nightmare.

Danse Macabre's Travelling Sideshow is Coming to Town!
Danse Macabre's next event, Pit of Curiosities, brings you all the weird and strange attractions of the Victorian sidehow including magic, illusion, freaks of nature and if you're lucky even the mythical Fiji Mermaid. This will be taking place on Friday 13th February (we do like to pick ominous dates!) at the Pit & Pendulum. We'll post up more info shortly.

Danse Macabre 2008 was held at Nottingham's View From The Top gallery from 29th October to 3rd November 2008. We had an amazing attendance of 200 people at the private view on Friday 31st October. Throughout the exhibition we received loads of positive feedback and what's more, we had brilliant reviews in Zero Tolerance Magazine and the the Metro. Due to a totally unprofessional and outstanding disrespect for the organisers of Danse Macabre and those that support the efforts of Danse Macabre i am urging everyone within this message to boycott David Flint and any of his ventures.

I'm sure many will agree the organisers of Danse Macabre work without prejudice, be it age, race, sex etc and with respect to all involved and those of interest to the venture. If anything Danse Macabre goes out of its way to support small ventures such as Lurid TV and David Flint to create a power house of creativity.

We urge that people simply delete him from your friends (on facebook, myspace etc) and this will start a process to protect others from finding him and being used in the same way we have.

I send this message not as a malicious message but a word of warning. Danse Macabre has suffered (let down by verbal agreements and the friendly nature of the danse macabre team of which i'm sure many of you will vouch for) due to the exploitative nature of David's pursuits and we only wish to serve as a warning to others if you enter an agreement with him.

I do not expect everyone here to delete him from facebook, myspace etc or to even stop communicating with the guy and nor do we have the right or authority to demand such things but we urge you to at least make sure you sign an agreement with the him (or lurid TV but we urge that use use David Flints name) as he has a tendency to default on any responsibility and produce inferior material when sponsoring or exploiting events. (examples include Danse Macabre, Hockley Hustle and Rock City events)

I would urge any working with David Flint to pursue any venture with caution and record all communication as well as obtaining written confirmation of what you expect or have agreed upon.
